Parent Participation

We welcome parents to participate in class programs, to help out around the school and during extra curricular activities and to contribute to School Council and its associated sub-committees.

We highly value your involvement and interest in your child's education.

Parents can be involved in the school in a number of ways including:

Parents are required to have a Working With Children Check when helping in the school. The school will support you to obtain this.

Out of school Hours Care

We provide an excellent and well resourced Out of School Hours Care Facility. A broad range of stimulating indoor and outdoor activities is organised for the children.

We conduct an After School Care Program (O.S.H. Club), from 7.00-9.00am and 3.30pm-6pm on school days. This service is also available on curriculum days.

Enrolment and costs are available upon request.

Communication

  • We communicate with our parents and school community through the weekly newsletter.
  • We have a meeting early in the year to allow the parents / carers to meet with the teacher and discuss the individual needs of each student.
  • Parents are provided with a Student Progress Report towards the end of Term Two.
  • The students also present their learning to their parents at a Three Way Conference at the end of Term 2. The Three Way Conference involves the student, teacher and parents sharing in a discussion about the child’s learning.
  • We encourage parents to make an appointment with the teacher at any other time in the year if they have concerns or issues that they would like to discuss or clarify.
  • Our Discipline Policy also provides parents with Notifications if their children have not demonstrated the appropriate behaviour or to inform them if their child has been bullied by another child so that the appropriate supports can be established.
  • Classroom diaries are uses throughout the school for daily communication.
